Heating Repair
Diagnostic visit is 95 dollars and comes off the bill if you have the work done. Most repairs land between 200 and 600 dollars with parts. I carry common ignitors, thermocouples, flame sensors, gas valves and blower capacitors in the van, so if the part is on the van it is fixed today. If your heat exchanger is cracked and the unit is twenty years old, I will tell you it is done rather than sell you a repair.
Annual Maintenance
One visit a year, 145 dollars. Book it for September. Burner cleaning, heat exchanger inspection, flue draft test, gas pressure measurement, safety control test, filter change, and a written note of whatever I expect to fail in the next two seasons. Repeat customers get the diagnostic fee waived on any call that year.
Home Energy Audits
325 dollars for a standard house, two to three hours on site. Blower door test, infrared scan of walls and ceiling while the house is depressurised, attic insulation depth, and a check for ducts losing air into spaces nobody heats. You get a ranked written list. Rank one is usually attic air sealing, which is unglamorous and pays back faster than anything else. Windows are almost never near the top, whatever the window salesman told you.
What I do not do
No air conditioning installs, no ductwork replacement, no new construction. I will give you the name of somebody good for each of those. Doing three things properly beats doing nine things adequately.
